The 2010 Formula 1 Season was the 61st season of Formula One.
Pariticipants
Team changes
- Reigning champions Brawn GP were bought out by Mercedes and transformed into their works team..
- Three new teams joined the field, Marussia, Caterham and USF1. That means the grid will be contested by thirteen teams and twenty-six drivers, the maximum number allowed.
Driver changes
- Reigning champion Jenson Button left Brawn and joined McLaren replacing Kovalainen, who found a seat in Caterham. Rubens Barrichello left the team and joined Williams, swapping seats with Rosberg. Mercedes hired returning champion Michael Schumacher in Button's place.

Other changes
- The points system was changed with the arrival of three new teams. Now, the top 10 drivers will score points rather than just the top 8.
- Refueling was banned, for the first time since 1993.
- The Drag Reduction System (DRS) was introduced. It allows a car within 1 second of the car ahead to open its rear wing and gain extra speed on the straights.
